Visa is currently testing a new method of payment in Spain, letting people do their purchases by mobile phone. Visa and other payment companies are convinced that this new application will be easier, quicker and therefor more popular. The chip that you can find on your normal credit or debit card, will be placed in your phone together with a transmitter to communicate with the retailer in question.
A downside could be that Visa is pushing the liability-aspect completely towards the banks, which could mean a no go for a lot of people.
